just as easily in training as you can in a match. You have e to be 100 per cent committed to the task in hand and that is Thistle.istle.

It is an important one ne for Rangers because if they y still think they can finish second econd then they have to win. You u can’t beat Aberdeen and then n drop points to Thistle.

It has been a fantastic ic season for Alan Archibaald’s side and they deserve a lot of plaudits for getting a top-six finish.

They are on a real high coming to Ibrox and Rangers have to be on it if they are to win the game. Crucially, they need to be as clinical as they were last weekend.

Too often this season we just haven’t taken ourur chances. There is no pressure re on Thistle so if we aren’t at it then it could turn out to be eaa really difficult afternoon. THE situation with Kenny Miller’s contract conti continues to rumble on and the mana manager has made his position clearcle on it. But it would be absol absolute madness if Kenny doesn’t get a new deal in the comin coming weeks. I kn know there are clubs that won’t hand out twoor th three-year contracts to play players once they get to a ce certain age but Kenny is more than worth a another 12 months. He has been doing h his coaching with the Under-20s but he still has so much to offer as a player and I think th that he will be given a de deal. THE manager spent a lot of time talking to the candidates for the coaching position and it is Jonatan Johansson that has been given the job on his backroom team.

Pedro wanted to get to know every candidate. It was his chance to find out what they have done in the past and what they could bring to the club in the future. Jonatan is the man that has come out tops.

He is very experienced in the game, he had 106 caps for Finland, and he has spent time coaching the Reserves at Morton and the Under-20s at Motherwell.

Jonatan, below, has been here since he finished playing so he knows Scottish football and he has seen a lot of Rangers over the past couple of years as well. He is a quiet lad but he knows what Rangers are all about and Pedro clearly feels he is the best man for the job.

As the manager has said, he and his staff are all fiery and passionate characters, so maybe he was looking for someone who could be a calming influence. He has given up his job as assistant manager of the Finnish national side and I am sure that would have been a big decision for him.

But he sees Rangers as a far bigger position and feels this is the right move for him at this stage of his career. I am sure the fans will be pleased to see him back.

The fans would go ballistic if Kenny ended up at another club in the Premiership next season and was playing against Rangers.

Unless Pedro has got someone lined up who can come in and score a barrel load of goals and be a huge influence in the dressing room, then Kenny has to get a new contract. It is as simple as that.

He is the best striker Rangers have got at this moment in time. Forget his age, that is just a number.

He is putting in a shift for the team, he can play anywhere from middle to front and, as he showed last weekend, he can still score big goals for Rangers.

The quicker that Rangers get a deal done, the better it is for the club and the better it is for Kenny.
