classes at Platform and an Iranian family who live locally. The central thread of the conversations led back to a really positive community feeling about Easterhouse and Platform.”

Suse admits she feels a strong sense of responsibility to get the project ‘right’.

“We want to reflect the narrative perfectly in the music,” she says. “The people we have spoken to have shared their stories, which will be documented forever in what we create. “So yes, we want it to be perfect.” The Outskirts line up also includes award winning performance maker Nic Green who presents Cock and Bull. Originally conceived for the eve of the 2015 UK general election, Cock and Bull, is a witty, clever exploration of power and politics.

There will also be art and music from Pester & Rossi who have been working in collaboration with their Glasgow based band Fallopé and the Tubes, artist collective Ortonadon, Sally Hackett and Nu Generation, a teenage art group based at Platform.

Aseries of events from the duo, accompanying an exhibition at Platform, will lead to a new piece of live work to be seen for the first time at Outskirts.

Sally Hackett’s acclaimed Fountain of Youth work, previously shown at Edinburgh Art Festival in 2016, will be part of the exhibition, showcasing the colourful and playful ceramic portrait sculptures.

Glasgow based Sound of Yell will perform a live score to French indie short La Coquille et Le Clergyman (The Seashell and the Clergyman) - an experimental French silent film directed by Germaine Dulac – and there will be spoken word performances from Platform’s Artist in Residence, Louie.

Other highlights include a workshop with Karl Jay-Lewin as part of his new work Extremely Pedestrian Chorales which premieres at Platform this Autumn and a performance from Josephine Foster which will be based on words by Emily Dickinson and other English poets, with new arrangements for piano and percussion from Alex Neilson.
