Hunt after knife attack

TWO men were brutally attacked by a knife thug outside a take-away in the East End of Glasgow.

The attacker shouted at them before running towards them and attacking them with a large weapon.

One man was treated in hospital while other was treated at the scene.

Police are investigat­ions are under way.

Crime Reporter A THUG ran towards two men with a large knife while they were standing outside a takeaway in Glasgow’s East End.

The brutal attack on the two men, aged 50 and 51, took place just after midnight on Tuesday while they were standing in the doorway of Spice Boy’s takeaway in Bailliesto­n.

Police say the men became aware of their ruthless attacker, who was standing nearby while at the takeaway which is near Swinton Road.

The knife-man then shouted at them before running towards them and attacking them.

The victims made their way back into the takeaway whilst their attacker got into a white coloured car, possibly a Seat Leon, before making off east along Rhindmuir Road.

The 50-year-old man was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to a serious shoulder injury and has since been released.

The 51-year-old man was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The suspect is described as white Scottish, 5ft 7 ins to 5ft 9 ins, of medium build, and he was wearing dark clothing and carrying a baseball cap.

Detective Constable Juan Carlos Arias De Leon, from Shettlesto­n CID, said: “This was a brutal and ruthless attack, and officers are working to establish the full circumstan­ces surroundin­g the incident.

“I would appeal to anyone who was on Swinton Road just after midnight on Tuesday and may have witnessed a disturbanc­e to please get in touch.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen a white coloured car in the area around the time of the incident, or a man matching the above descriptio­n.”
