SCALES OF JUSTICE Roof protest after man refused pub entry

-

A MAN climbed on to a roof in a drunken protest after he wasn’t let in to a bar.

James Graham was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court after police came across him on the roof of a masonic bar.

The court heard that the 38-year-old, who was under the influence of drink at the time of the incident in Eastershouse, refused to come down. The accused went on to to say he was protesting because he was refused entry to the pub a previous night.

He then started to become aggressive after officers tried to get him down - calling them “f***ing b******s”. His antics went on to attract a crowd of people who where soon asked to leave the area by the police.

Graham, of Denmilne Street, admitted that on May 14, last year, in Lochdochart Road he behaved in a threatening and abusive manner by repeatedly shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner and uttering threats of violence.

His defending solicitor said Graham could not recollect what he did due to how drunk he was.

He came to realise what he had done when he saw a video his friend filmed the next day.

Graham’s defending solicitor said this caused him a great deal of embarrassment and was the first to admit this incident was “completely and utterly ridiculous”.

He was placed under supervision for a year.
