Dan expects Bruno to show new recruits the way

- By CHRIS JACK

DANIELDA Candeias is confident BrunoBr Alves can bring out the bestbe in Rangers’ Portuguese contingentco this term.

The winger put pen to paper on a two-year deal at Ibrox on Su Sunday as he became the latest su summer signing for boss Pedro Ca Caixinha.

Candeias played alongside Al Alves during a spell with Porto an and was in the same Benfica squad as defender Fabio Cardoso. And the 29-year-old is looking forward to working alongside the experienced Portuguese stopper again.

He said: “Bruno is a fantastic player, I don’t need to say too much about him because he is already known worldwide and is a top central defender.

“Having the opportunity to play with Bruno will help Fabio a lot; when I was at Porto he did the same for me and for the young kids. I think that will be really important for him.

“I don’t know Dalcio personally but I have had the opportunity to watch him in a few games and he has a lot of quality; for a player of his generation this is a really good opportunity for him here to improve his football.”

Candeias moves to Ibrox from Turkish side Alanyaspor having been sent there on loan from Benfica last season.

And he hopes the chance to put down his roots in Glasgow will help him hit his peak under Caixinha’s guidance.

He told RangersTV: “I believe I will find that stability here and with luck I will reach that level of performance again.

“I know about the pressures here and I am expecting that; I’m not concerned about it because I have played for a lot of other good teams.”
