Newsensory garden is a big hit with youngsters
IT is a haven of tranquility in the heart of Garthamlock. Now additional needs pupils at Croftcroighn School have the chance to enjoy a special sensory garden.
Thanks to kind hearted bosses at Graham Construction, primary and nursery children have a new outdoor space, especially adapted to suit the individual needs of the children who attend the school.
Margaret McFadden, headteacher at Croftcroighn Primary School, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with our new sensory garden.
“Graham Construction has been so enthusiastic in its support of our school.
“As soon as I got in touch with the regional director, the Graham team got on-side immediately, helping us to develop this fantastic facility and has even created bespoke pieces of equipment for our learners, which will enable them to develop their creativity, communication skills, physical and motor abilities and their play skills.
“We are so pleased with our garden area and the fantastic opportunities this will provide for our pupils for many years to come.
“We cannot thank Graham Construction enough.”
Mrs McFadden contacted Graham Construction requesting help in regenerating an area in the school campus that had fallen into disrepair.
Understanding the importance a sensory garden would bring to the pupils of Croftcroighn School, Graham Construction designed and created a tranquil outdoor space.
A winding path directs the children through a garden filled with a variety of sensory experiences and activities, including a story-time gazebo and picnic area.
Graham Construction, which is celebrating 15 years of operations in Scotland, is currently engaged in the
