Ibrox tickets joy for war veterans
RANGERS fan group Club 1872 have donated four Ibrox season tickets to the veterans at Erskine.
Directors Laura Fawkes and Joanne Percival joined Colin Stewart from the Rangers Youth Development Fund at the care facility yesterday.
Erskine provides support for more than 1,000 people each year and the residents will once again be able to see their team in action at Ibrox in the new season.
Club 1872 Director, Laura Fawkes said: “Erskine is a charity close to the hearts of Rangers supporters and we are delighted to be able to continue our support from last season through the pro- vision of season tickets.
“We are proud to support the Rangers Youth Development Company as a Lotto Agent and we encourage as many supporters as possible to play the Lotto and use Club 1872 as their agent when signing up.
“This will allow us to continue to provide assistance to Erskine and also play our part in supporting the Rangers Youth Development Company and the excellent work they do to develop our future stars.
“Contributing our Lotto commission in this way not only allows us to support Erskine but also puts funds back into Rangers through the purchase of season tickets.”
Club 1872 are the fifth largest shareholders at Ibrox and have become the voice of the Light Blue legions since their formation last year.
And Colin McPhail, Erskine’s Community Fundraising Officer, is delighted to have the support of Gers fans once again.
He said: “Receiving the tickets is fantastic as our residents love to go along to the games and support their team, which they have done for many years. Their memories flood back and the joy on their faces when they approach Ibrox is a delight. The support shown to Erskine by Rangers, Club 1872 and their fantastic fans is really phenomenal and we are really grateful to them.”
