Men’s 10K offers ‘early bird’ treat

- By CAROLINE WILSON

RUNNERS are being offered discounted entries to Scotland’s only all-male 10K race.

Hamstrings and quads have barely recovered from this year’s race but entries are now open for the 2018 Glasgow Men’s 10k, which will take place as usual on Father’s Day, which will be on Sunday, June 17, next year.

The event is organised annually to help raise awareness about men’s health and raises thousands for charitable causes.

Runners or budding runners have until July 16 to get their hands on a discounted entry pass.

The Glasgow Men’s 10K, along with its brotherly Edinburgh event, aims to be a catalyst for men across Scotland and even further afield to take control of their health and make positive changes.

The route takes in many of the city’s most iconic landmarks including the Glasgow Science Centre, the Armadillo, the SECC and Glasgow Green, with a spectacular finish line in George Square.

Neil Kilgour said: “The Men’s 10K plays such an important role in Scotland, inspiring thousands of men of all ages and abilities to make a genuine difference.

“Each and every guy that crosses that finish line is a hero in our eyes.”

Before returning to Glasgow, the Men’s 10K series heads to Edinburgh on Sunday, November 5, just ahead of International Men’s Day.

The city centre route begins on the Royal Mile in the heart of Old Town and finishes at BT Murrayfield Stadi
