SCALES OF JUSTICE Teenager robbed Italian restaurant in two raids

A TEENAGER robbed a family business twice causing more than £2000 worth of damage.

Conner McCarron, broke into the Amore d’Italia restaurant on Alexandra Parade on October 8, last year.

The owners arrived at the shop on the morning of the incident and noticed that the doors had been badly damaged.

When they went inside the popular Dennistoun restaurant, they found the till drawer lying open and money missing from inside.

Just over 10 days later, 18-yearold McCarron was seen hitting the glass of the outside of the property in an attempt to gain access.

He went on throw an object at the window before leaving a short time later with items in his arms.

McCarron appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to breaking into the restaurant and stealing money and a quantity of drink.

CCTV images showed the accused going into the property on October 19.

When police arrived they noted the glass had been smashed and damage had been caused to the property.

Officers eventually caught up with McCarron, of Pollokshaw­s Road, and noticed he was also covered in shards of glass.

The damage caused and cash taken on both occasions cost the business around £2,700.

Sheriff Diana McConnell ordered the accused to undergo 120 hours of unpaid work.
