- By STACEY MULLEN

AMAN was left lying in a pool of blood after a brutal gang attack.

The 23-year-old was knifed by thugs who followed him in a car, and then left him in the street.

A murder bid probe has been launched.

Crime Reporter A GANG who pursued a young man at speed in a car left him lying in the street in a pool of blood – after a brutal stabbing.

The 23-year-old is now in hospital in a stable condition following the shocking attack which happened in Castlemilk’s Ardencraig Drive at around 4.25pm on Wednesday.

The man was walking along the road when he was struck by an older style Mercedes car which was deliberately driven at him. He managed to get up and bolted into nearby Ardencraig Quadrant.

But before he could make his escape, a passenger in the car got out and stabbed him in the street before making a getaway.

The quiet residential street in Castlemilk is filled with families and young children who may have witnessed the attack.

One resident said: “The boy must have been bleeding bad as it was all over the street.

“The police were until 5am yesterday, and they tapped off the bottom and top of the street.”

Cops say the stab victim was targeted and are treating the at- tack as attempted murder. They want to catch those responsible and say the car, in which there were at least three men, made off at speed along Ardencraig Drive.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as stable.

The suspect for the stabbing is described as white, thin, between 20 and 30, with dark hair. He was wearing a dark T-shirt and trousers.

Detective Inspector Stevie Watson, Cathcart CID, said: “Whilst we believe the injured man was the intended target, there were others in the immediate area that could have been injured or worse due to the actions of these men.”
