T he 74-year-old man wa s pounced upon by the robber in broad daylight at 9.30am yesterday.

Police say the victim was getting into his car in Hillside Road in Glasgow’s South Side when he was approached by a man who threatened him with a knife and demanded money.

He was wearing a light blue baseball cap, light blue jeans and a dark blue jacket which was open at the front.

He said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who thankfully was not seriously injured, and it is absolutely vital that we trace the despicable individual responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area who may have witnessed the incident, or noticed a man matching the above description acting suspiciously, to please get in touch.

“It is also understood that a woman pushing a buggy witnessed the incident and attempted to pursue the suspect and I would appeal to her directly to come forward as she may have important information to assist our enquiries.
