Cats rescued after being dumped in bin
TWO cats who were dumped in a wheelie bin were rescued after a member of the public raised the alarm.
Penelope and Paloma were left in the wheelie bin on August 1 outside the woman’s property in Bellshill.
The Scottish SPCA are now investigating the incident and looking after the cats.
Inspector Jack Marshall said, “The cats were found inside the wheelie bin outside a property i n Greenend View.
“She did the right thing by bringing these cats to our attention and now we’re keen to find out who they belonged to.”
Meanwhile, a cat was dumped in a box outside a vets in Rutherglen.
The Scottish SPCA is now appealing for information following the discovery of a cat outside Taylor Veterinary Practice on July 27.
They are now investigating the incident and have named the cat Kingsley.
Inspector Stacey Erwin said: “Kingsley, as he’s been named by staff, was found outside the vets in a cardboard box and was physically in good condition, however, if he wasn’t found quickly it could have been a very sad ending.
“We assume the person responsible thought the vet practice was closed as there was some food left in the box presumably to allow for Kingsley potentially being out all night.
“As much as this would suggest a responsible decision, the box was flimsy and Kingsley could have escaped and gotten into serious trouble as the practice is situated beside a very busy dual carriageway.”
