PETE: GERS BOSS HAS MINDSET TO THRIVE
Ex-Ger Loven says Ibrox boss won’t flinch from glory quest
PETER LOVENKRANDS reckons Pedro Caixinha’s strong mindset and winning mentality will stand him in good stead as he looks to deliver success to Rangers this season.
The Portuguese came under intense scrutiny in the aftermath of the Europa League defeat to Progres Niederkorn last month. But he has seen his side recover from that early setback and turn in a series of encouraging performances in recent weeks. And the Light Blue legions have been further boosted by the 2-1 victory over Motherwell on Sunday that got Rangers Premiership campaign off to a positive start. And former Gers striker Lovenkrands knows the 46-year-old will do all he can to meet the huge demands of an
expectant fan base in the coming months.
He told SportTimes: “I think he is very strongminded in that way and he knows what he wants.
“Nothing fazes him in any way. When I had my meeting with him, I was really impressed with some of the things he was saying and what his attitude was.
“You need to have a strong mindset if you are going to be the manager of Rangers.
“He is trying to get his point across and if you don’t follow then you won’t be part of it.
“That is how he set his stall out at the start and he is keeping to that and that is the right way of doing it. Whether you are a success or a failure, you do it your way.”
