Police hunt for trio after ‘vicious’ attack

TWO men and a woman who carried out a “vicious and unprovoked” attack are being hunted by police.

Around 9.25am on Saturday, two men were walking near the shops on Braemar Road when they were approached by the trio.

The 50 year old and 43-year-old were assaulted and robbed before the attackers made off towards East Kilbride Road.

One of the men was treated at Hairmyres Hospital for a head injury and the other suffered facial injuries.

Police at Cambuslang are appealing for informatio­n in a bid to track the three thugs.

They are described as a white male aged around 25 with short fair hair, who is 5ft 10in tall and was wear- ing a grey tracksuit, a while male aged between 20 and 25, who is 5ft 8in who was wearing a black top and has short brown hair and a white woman wearing purple clothing.

Detective Sergeant Martin McKendrick, at Cambuslang CID, said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack on t wo men who have been left injured and extremely shaken by the incident.

“It is imperative the people responsibl­e are caught and brought to justice for this crime.

“Officers have been carrying out house to house inquiries and viewing CCTV in the local area.

“I urge anyone who has any informatio­n to contact CID at Cambuslang via 101 quoting incident number 1155 of 19 August.”
