Mucky pups wanted for record bid
HUNDREDS of dogs are being sought for an unusual world record attempt.
Glasgow’s Groom Room, based at Pets at Home, is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the number of dogs washed within 12 hours.
The city grooming firm will join 84 other salons across the UK in the attempt to wash more than 5,000 dogs. On its own, the salon must wash 240 dogs in six-minute time slots.
Pet owners are being asked to book their furry companions in to the salon, paying £5 for a wash and dry, with all money raised going to the animal charity Support Adoption for Pets.
Due to the time constraints of the world record, pooches with short hair and smooth coats are being recruited.
Stephanie Brennan, salon manager at Glasgow Forge’s Groom Room said; “We’re really excited to take part in this Guinness World Record attempt, and with all the proceeds going towards helping homeless pets, it really makes the whole thing worthwhile.
“In order to reach our fund- raising target AND beat the record, we need to roll our sleeves up and wash 240 mucky pups in six-minute time slots. It really is a challenge.”
The attempt is taking place on September 16, between 8am and 8pm.
