Crime Reporter THE heartbroken mum of a young man who was stabbed to death at a house party in Easterhouse has paid tribute to her son saying she ‘never got to say goodbye’.

Paul Bexley was attacked during a fight at a house party in Easterhouse’s Baldovan Crescent in the early hours of Sunday.

The 23-year-old was rushed to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary with stab wounds where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Yesterday, floral tributes were placed outside the block of flats where the murder took place and among those messages was a tribute from his mum, Lorraine.

She said: “Can’t believe you’re gone and I never got to say goodbye.

“You will be in my heart and thoughts everyday.

“Fly high until we meet again. Mum.”

The heartbreaking message lay with several other floral tributes as police continued to investigate the murder.

Two police officers stood guard with one cop outside the close, and another in the stairwell.

Teams of forensic officers also arrived at the scene yesterday.

Those officers could be seen combing the stairwell for clues with one of the team using a torchlight to check the close for evidence.

Detectives from Police Scotland’s Major Investigations Teams were also at the scene carrying bags of evidence in and out the close area.

In nearby streets i n Queenslie, rows of cops appeared to be carrying out further searches for evidence as the hunt for the popular young father’s killer continued.

It is understood that Paul was also due to be a dad for a second time.

Police Scotland said today they were following a definite line of inquiry.

Meanwhile, a friend of Paul’s mum Lorraine has set up a JustGiving page online with a fundraising goal of £500 for the popular young man’s funeral.
