Man’s terror as knife thugs in robbery bid

TWO men armed with a weapons forced themselves into a home in Bailliesto­n during a robbery.

The two men brandishin­g a knife and baseball bat threatened a man in his home on Tantallon Road around 10.15pm on Monday.

A 52-year-old man answered the door of his home to the men who forced him inside and demanded money before making off empty handed.

Police are appealing f or informatio­n after the incident. Officers said the man was not injured.

Officers are now hunting the suspects.

Constable Craig Stewart, Community Investigat­ions Unit, Govan, Glasgow, said: “It would appear that the two men targeted the house for a specific reason but they didn’t get what they were looking for.

“We have been reviewing CCTV in the area and speaking to neighbours but we still would like to hear from anyone who has i nformation about the incident.

“At this time, we don’t know if the men made off on foot or got into a car, so if you did see men running off from the address or maybe a car with its engine running parked near the house, then please get in touch.

“Informatio­n should be passed to officers at the Community Investigat­ion Unit at Govan via 101. Please quote reference 0761/26/09/17 when calling.
