SCALES OF JUSTICE Cops call for back up during violent arrest
FOUR police officers were needed to restrain two young men who kicked off when one of them was arrested.
Kevin Bradley ended up in handcuffs himself when he tried to stop cops lifting his teenage pal Steven Marshall.
Police approached Marshall on Sandyhills Road, Mount Vernon, on September 20 to tell him he was wanted on warrant for assault and robbery. The 19-yearold claimed to know nothing about the allegation and started to lash out at officers. Bradley launched himself at cops and took a pair of handcuffs, waving them about and shouting.
Marshall kept up a torrent of abuse, shouting at police: “Get the f**k aff me you c**t.”
The two officers first on the scene then called for back up as Marshall and Bradley, who were drunk, became increasingly aggressive with Bradley shouting: “I’m going to f*****g bottle you, you c**t.”
In the police car Marshall shouted: “You’re a f*****g p**f.”
At London Road police office, Marshall tried to spit at and head- butt cops. Both men, from Castlemilk, were on bail for unrelated offences when the incident took place.
Sheriff Gerard Bonnar sentenced Marshall to a Community Payback Order (CPO) for 12 months with supervision and tagged him for four months.
Bradley, 24, was given a CPO with supervision for 18 months.
