Star Gary pops up to help hospice with new store
THE Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice has popped up in the St Enoch Centre ...
Actor and former River City star Gary Lamont stopped by to chat to customers and collect donations at the charity’s new pop-up shop.
To celebrate the opening this week, the shop, on the first floor of the centre, will be open seven days with family entertainment including children’s face painting on Wednesday and a colouring competition at noon on Friday, with prizes of arts and crafts kits, donated by Hamleys.
Visitors can see a scale model of the new hospice and a selection of brand new gifts that are for sale on the hospice’s online shop at www.ppwh.org.uk, from handbags and scarves to bath bomb Christmas gift sets and handmade soaps.
Gary said: “Visit the new pop-up shop in the St Enoch Centre for a coffee and find out all about the new hospice being built in Bellahouston Park.
“It’s also a great place to learn more about the wonderful work the hospice does in the community.”
Rhona Baillie, chief executive of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice said: “We are so grateful to the St Enoch Centre for giving us this wonderful chance to share the latest news from the hospice.
“And to Anne Ledgerwood, general manager of the St Enoch Centre, who is also a member of the board of Hospice Enterprises, for all her support.
“This is such an important time for us, as we get ready to move to our new home next year. We want to make sure patients and families as well as supporters can find out all about the services in our new hospice.”
The hospice still has £1.3million to raise to reach the £21m total of the Brick by Brick Appeal to build a brand new hospice in Bellahouston Park.
