Patience the key for McCrorie to blossom

CLINT HILL reckons patience will be a virtue for Ross McCrorie as he looks to realise his potential for Rangers in the coming years.

Ibrox boss Pedro Caixinha tipped the defender to go on and star for club and country after he handed him his debut against Partick Thistle last month.

McCrorie impressed in his starts against Celtic and Hamilton and came off the bench during the win over St Johnstone on Friday night.

Hill saw the 19-yearold emerge through the Auchenhowie ranks last term and believes he has all the attributes to go on and forge a successful career for himself in the game.

He told SportTimes: “I don’t want to put that much pressure on him because he is only a young boy learning his trade.

“But, what a place to learn it and to go and make your debut for a club like Rangers. To play against Celtic as well, what an experience that is.

“As long as his development curve keeps gradually improving game by game, then I am sure he will reach those heights.

“I don’t like putting pressure on young people because they will have moments where things don’t quite to go right.

“But he will stick with it and still believe in himself when those mistakes do happen, because they will happen.

“He has got a great career ahead of him, he has everything he needs to be a good defender. But let’s give him time to develop and become a better player.”
