SCALES OF JUSTICE Jealous boyfriend sparks mass brawl in restaurant

- By COURT REPORTER

A BRAWL broke out at a popular restaurant after a man spotted someone talking to his girlfriend.

Hakar Hussain was at Boteco Do Brasil in the Trongate with his friends when the dispute took place.

The 35-year-old began speaking to another group within the restaurant when a fight involving about eight to 10 males occurred.

Hussain, of Forge Street in Royston, assaulted one of the men involved by pushing on the body and punching him on the head.

He then directed his attention to the owner of the restaurant and subsequently attacked him by seizing him by the throat.

An unknown male took Hussain away from the group in order to calm the situation down.

After briefly leaving the premises, Hussain returned and began shouting towards another male, calling him a “black b*****d”.

The comments were perceived to be racist by the victim.

He continued to shout profanities including “I’m going to f*****g do you” and “what you f******g looking at you black b****d?”.

Police were called to the brawl where they found Hussain in possession of a set of keys which were described as being used an offensive weapon.

His rage continued after they had arrived as he adopted an aggressive stance towards officers and struggled with them violently.

Hussain appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to the attack, acting in a threatening and abusive manner, being in possession of a weapon and struggling with police.

He was fined £270 for his involvement in the incident.
