Jack: Gers need to stick together

third consecutive victory, a feat they haven’t managed all season.

Jack admits that the result was unacceptable, and he believes it is now vital for everyone to rally around each other to make sure Rangers come out fighting against Dundee at Dens Park on Friday night.

“On that result, people are going to question us, there’s no doubt,” Jack said. “It’s important within the squad that we get around each other and stick together.

“In the first half we were miles ahead of Hamilton and the chances we created were gilt-edged ones. We had a real spring in our step and we were all together.

“We went in at half-time and we said that we had to just do more of the same and the goal would come.

“Obviously it’s then a sore one to take.”

The two people who will probably need the support of their teammates most are young defender Ross McCrorie, whose underhit backpass laid Hamilton’s opener on a plate, and striker Alfredo Morelos, who missed a hatful of chances.

“Alfredo is a good lad and we’re all here for each other,” said Jack. “It’s not just Alfredo, we’ve had a disappointing result here and we all just have to stick together as a team.

“It’s important that we don’t come away from here blaming each other and falling out. It’s about sticking together and making sure we show a reaction.

“A few of us have spoken to Ross and told him that everyone makes mistakes, that’s football and it’s part of the game.

“He’s got a really mature head on him, so I’m sure that next week, if selected, he will put that right.”
