Hein well aware of big Bhoys challenge

- By HUGO LOPEZ

ANDERLECHT manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck admits he is not relishing the challenge of trying to beat Celtic with a three-goal margin in next Tuesday’s crucial Champions League clash.

If Brendan Rodgers’ side avoid losing the final Group B by at least three goals, then the reigning Scottish champions will qualify for the last-32 of the Europa League.

The Hoops have picked up their only Champions League points from September’s convincing 3-0 victory against the Belgian outfit after suffering home and away losses to PSG and Bayern Munich.

Vanhaezebrouck was only appointed as Anderlecht manager in October and admits his side face a huge task in trying to inflict an emphatic defeat on Celtic.

He said: “It will be very difficult but we will do everything to try and achieve such a result.

“At home, Celtic is very often indomitable, and to score three goals in the Champions League would be hard for anyone.”

Vanhaezebrouck, whose team were beaten by 2-1 at home by Bayern last week, added: “You know, people often only remember the result, but we have seen a team that is growing up, taking responsibility.

“If you look at our games from the start, we managed to trouble PSG then Bayern at home, a little longer in the second case.

“It should not be forgotten that these are European behemoths, who have the ambition to go far in the competition, or even to win the trophy.

“So, of course, we are frustrated at not being rewarded for our efforts.

“Contrary to what many people think, there are not three divisions of difference between them and us.

“There is a difference, it is obvious, but Anderlecht deserves just as much as other teams to be there.”
