Elaine proves a leading light at Christmas
A WOMAN whose home has become the top Christmas attraction of Coatbridge has vowed to keep expanding her display.
Elaine Slaven, has been lighting up her garden with a selection of festive decorations for 20-years.
Her belief in the magic of Christmas is what drives her to put up the display.
Elaine said: “I’m just a big kid at heart and I love Christmas.
“I could never decorate my old house because it wasn’t safe enough to leave everything outside but as soon as I moved here I started doing it.
“I done it for my kids because they loved it when they were younger but now they’re older, I do it for everyone else.
“It’s always nice to see people stopping their cars to have a look and coming to chat about what I’ve got this year.”
The council worker, whose job focuses on encouraging people to save energy, uses all energy-saving bulbs in her decorations.
“People are always asking me what I’ve got planned for my next display so I always want to keep doing it.
“As long as I can carry the decorations into the garden, I’ll be doing it”.
