consistency in his game. And Holt believes there is still plenty more to come from the 23-year-old as he looks to firmly establish himself at Ibrox this term.

He said: “He has been doing great. Previously he was doing well but now he is adding goals to his game and it makes a real different. We are all delighted for Josh because we know what he can bring to the team.

“He has done well previously and now he is adding goals to his game. If he is helping out the team, we are delighted. We just want to keep seeing him progress as a player.

“Most of the boys have got a really good understanding with him. We work on the training pitch every day and know what his qualities are.

“He has shown this season the qualities and the character he has got. When things aren’t going well, he is always available on the pitch.

“I think it is probably a bit of belief and confidence to be honest. He has been doing well and once you get that first goal you find yourself going on a wee run and everything you touch seems to go in the back of the net.”

The goals from Windass and Morelos proved to be good enough for Rangers as Neil Lennon’s side were left with nothing to show for their efforts on home soil.

It has been an impressive few weeks for Murty’s side and midfielder Holt believes the hardfought win showed the spirit in the Ibrox camp.

He said: “We had to dig in massively and show real determination and the spirit saw us through.”
