Grado, from Stevenston, Ayrshire, shot to fame as a wrestler before landing the role as PC Hugh McKirdy in the hit BBC show Scot Squad.

He still lives in his hometown with his girlfriend Ker- ry Burns, 27. The couple have been together for 11 years.

“I only met her on a handful of occasions but each time was memorable.

“You made your mum proud big man. I know how much you adored your mum and your relationship was special. A joy to see.”

Grado is currently starring in the Pavilion Theatre’s pantomime The Wizard of Never Woz.
