“But it will make them and us stronger. We will learn from it and we will go again. We can’t wait for the game against Partick Thistle now. When you lose a game all you want to do is get back onto the pitch.
“You need to get it out of your system. It was not a nice experience but all you can do is try to go and start again.
“All the way through the run we always just looked to the next game and that is what we have to do now.
“We will talk about Hearts and we will look at the performance again as a team but our energy will be on going against Thistle and trying to get back to where we were.”
Lustig himself had gone for almost two years without losing a domestic game at the club.
The defender did not play in the club’s defeat to St Johnstone in May 2016, but had played in February of the same year when Ronny Deila’s side lost to Aberdeen.
“It’s a special feeling to go nearly two years without losing a game, but the things we have done haven’t been done before and probably won’t be done again so it’s unbelievable,” said the defender.
“But of course it was a really sore one and all the credit to the Hearts team who really went for it. My feeling is that I’m glad the game against Partick is coming on Wednesday.
“Now is not time to look back and see what we have achieved, we have to look forward.”
