Fears after man and his dog go missing

-

POLICE are searching for a Hamilton man who has gone missing with his dog.

James Monteith, from Elmbank Crescent, was last seen by his son at around 7pm on Wednesday.

The 60-year-old, who has been experiencing some personal issues, is believed to have his Jack Russell called Archie and red Nissan XTrail car, registration number NJ03 RZH, with him.

James is described as white, 6 ft in height, of slim build, with grey receding hair, clean shaven and wears glasses.

It is not known what he was wearing.

Sergeant Thomas McAuley, Hamilton Police Station, said: “James was last seen by his son who had popped in to see him last night as he does on a daily basis.

“He also texted his son in the early hours of this morning but didn’t say where he was. He hasn’t been in touch since and his family do not know where he is now.

“James tends to keep himself to himself and hasn’t gone missing before.

“He has been experiencing some personal issues recently and that, coupled with the fact that his family nor police have been able to get a hold of him, gives us all some concern.

“It may be that he just wants to get away for a while but we need to make sure he is ok and for him to get in touch with his family to reassure them or contact police.

“If you have seen James, his car or have any information about where he is, then please contact officers at Hamilton Police Station via 101 quoting reference number 0268/21/12/17.”
