A JUNIOR football club in Glasgow’s South Side has lodged plans to improve its stadium facilities.
Pollok Juniors FC, who play at Newlandsfield Park, want to demolition an existing building and rebuild it.
The club say they would want to improve their fans match day experience by providing suitable toilets for both men and women, and a refreshments area within the new building.
In a proposal submitted with their planning application, Pollok FC said: “Pollok Football Club are looking at undertaking works at their existing ground to improve the facilities and match day experience for fans.
“Toilet facilities at the ground are currently limited with a simple enclosed area behind the rear of the existing covered enclosure serving as the main toilets for male fans. While there are existing toilet, both male and female, within the pavilion building these are limited in number and require fans to gain entry to the pavilion to access which is not ideal from a security or practical perspective.
“The proposals look to improve the toilet facilities available to fans, both male and female.”
The statement continues: “There is currently a small building located to the western side of the ground adjacent to existing covered enclosure that offers refreshments to fans on match.
The proposals look to demolish this existing building and in its place erect a new building that will provide dedicated male and female toilets and an enhanced refreshment offer to fans.”
The planning application states that the new facilities would only be used on match days.
The club, who play in the Scottish Junior Football Association’s West of Scotland Super League Premier Division, have been playing the the Newlands area of the city since the 192829 season.
A decision on the plans is expected to be made by Glasgow City Council on February 9.
