Cops still hunting ‘dangerous’ Jordan Owen... six months on

- By STACEY MULLEN

Crime Reporter A ‘DANGEROUS’ fugitive has managed to evade the authorities for almost six months despite cops launching a manhunt to speak to him over the death of a young dad in Castlemilk.

Jordan Owen has still not been traced by murder cops probing the death of Jamie Lee.

Jamie Lee died in July after he was shot and several others were injured during a mass brawl in the area’s Ballantay Terrace.

But the force insists that the search for Jordan Owen continues and the hunt has taken them all over the UK.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Fergus: “Twenty three year-old Jordan Owen, from Castlemilk, is still being sought by Police Scotland in connection with the ongoing inquiry into the murder of Jamie Lee and we are keen to gain as much information as possible as to his whereabouts.

“The investigation into the murder and to trace him is extensive, and we have a team of experienced detectives carrying out enquiries, not just in Scotland but also nationally.”

Police Scotland first issued an appeal with a picture of Owen, 23, in July and urged the public not to approach him.

But so far officers have not managed to catch-up with Owen and Police Scotland have said people who have information which they may not think is relevant should still come forward.

DCI Fergus said: “We will trace whoever is responsible for this murder, but we would still appreciate any information people can provide. As time passes, people may think that the information they hold may not be relevant now, however I must stress that any small piece of information may be vital to this murder investigation and taking the i nquiry forward.”

Several arrests have been made already following the incident but the manhunt for Jordan Owen remains active.

Owen is described as 5ft 8 inches in height, slim build, with short brown hair.

Crimestoppers have also offered a reward of up to £5,000 for information that leads to Jordan Owen being located.

We previously reported that the community of Castlemilk celebrated the birthday of Jamie Lee.

Dozens of people turned out to release the tri-colour balloons for Jamie Lee’s birthday 23rd birthday which fell weeks after his death.

Attached to the balloons were notes which were ‘messages to heaven’ for the popular young man.

Jamie had also became a dad to his son Jae in the weeks prior to his death.

He welcomed the infant with his 22-year-old partner Laura Ward.
