Denis the menace sharp for Bhoys

- By MARK WALKER

ZENIT St Petersburg star Denis Terentyev has warned Celtic to forget any thought about the Russians being rusty ahead of their Europa League showdown.

And he’s warned the injury-hit Hoops they are gunning for them ahead of next week’s first leg at Parkhead.

Celtic lost their second league game of the season at Kilmarnock and have injuries to keeper Craig Gordon and defenders Dedryck Boyata and Kristoffer Ajer.

In addition, Mikel Lustig is also injured, while January signing Marvin Compper is ineligible for the Last 32 clash. Leigh Griffiths, Tom Rogic, Stuart Armstrong, Patrick Roberts, Jonny Hayes and Anthony Ralston are all crocked too.

But Zenit right back Terentyev insists his side couldn’t be better prepared after rattling 15 goals in just three games in friendlies against Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande, Slavia Prague and FC Copenhagen in Dubai.

This week, Zenit are in Turkey for another training camp before flying to Glasgow and Terentyev reckons they are in great spirits for their trip to Scotland.

He said: “We are completely ready for Celtic.

“At the beginning of the first winter training camp, it was difficult, but by the second week we felt great.

“And I think you could see that by the results we got.

“We were playing the champions of countries like China, Czech Republic and Denmark – good teams.

“But we scored a lot of goals and played some great football.”
