TV auctioneer lined up for charity event

-

ANTIQUE lovers in Glasgow can benefit from the expert eye of a top TV auctioneer whilst raising money for the Beatson Cancer charity.

McTear’s Auctioneers is holding a valuation day at its Glasgow base with Bargain Hunt presenter Natasha Raskin-Sharp on hand to spot any hidden treasures.

Specialists in jewellery, silver, ceramics, art, furniture, clocks, instruments, watches, coins, whisky and more will be available on the day to cast their eyes over items brought in by members of the public.

The event, which will run on Thursday, February 22, from 10am to 3pm, will see Natasha join the McTear’s team hoping to unearth a gem or two.

Brian Clements, managing director at McTear’s, said: “Over the years our valuation days across Scotland have unearthed a host of unusual and rare antiques. Bottles of whisky worth thousands of pounds, silver statues, Chinese vases and rare paintings have all been carefully unwrapped by our experts.

“It’s amazing to find out what people have lying at the back of their cupboard or in the loft. Very often they have no idea how valuable their items are and it’s lovely to see their reaction when we tell them.

“Our Glasgow valuation days are always very exciting and I am sure we will uncover a few gems on the 22nd.”

Valuations are free with complimentary tea and coffee, however visitors are asked to consider donating a small fee to the Beatson Cancer charity.

Natasha added: “I’m really looking forward to this valuation day because you have no idea what you might come across.”
