Murty remains calm over Alfredo

it. I am fairly relaxed about it.

“I can always refuse it. I have always said I am under no economic imperative to get him sold and move him on.

“If the bid comes in and the club decide we want to take it, that will be a discussion.

“But you have seen in the games since the bid came in, against Ayr and Hamilton, that he’s been an integral part of things.

“I haven’t had a chat with Alfredo about it, but I haven’t had to. Alfredo is focused on himself and you could see that against Hamilton.

“There is more to come from him and hopefully he sees a pathway to where he wants to go to with our club.”

Morelos turned in another impressive performance at the SuperSeal Stadium as Rangers moved back up to second spot in the Premiership standings.

He scored the Gers’ third of the afternoon after Jamie Murphy and Josh Windass had netted and the Englishman went on to complete his second hat-trick for the Light Blues.

Windass penned a new three-and-a-half year deal this week and celebrated by moving within one of Morelos at the top of the Ibrox scoring charts.

Murty said: “Are we giving him the second? I am harsher than you lot...I wouldn’t!

“No, you see when Josh opens up and gallops in the final third that he’s hard to deal with.

“He times his run well, he makes great lines and he finishes well. He needs to work on parts of his game but I am glad we tied him down.

“Josh has the qualities we require. That tally is a reflection of where they are. They are young, maturing and there is more to come from them.

“As happy as I am, they will get better and stronger. This is a lovely marker on their journey.”
