Fresh appeal 13 years after Emma murder
DETECTIVES are to question friends of murdered Emma Caldwell who were also working as prostitutes as part of a fresh new probe launched 13 years after she was found dead.
City detectives want to find out more about a “white” client who wanted to have sex outside, according to reports.
Tragic Emma’s body was found in woods in Roberton, near Biggar on May 8, 2005.
Now one potential witness has told how police are trying to find out more about a client who liked to have sex out in the open.
Their focus appears to have shifted from an Asian suspect to a white man.
One friend, who worked alongside Emma on Cadogan Street and was interviewed by police told the Daily Record: “They have spoken to me several times.
“But that is the first time they asked about anyone who wanted to have sex outside. They spoke to me for about an hour and a half. They have never asked me about that before.
“It is the first time they have been interested in a white guy.
“At the time of Emma’s murder, they just wanted to know about Asian clients. They were obsessed about Asians.”
The witness added: “It was all the women that were known workers that the police were interviewing again.
“I know of two others who got interviewed and they were asked the same question about any clients that wanted to have sex outside.”
Detective Superintendent David McLaren said: “Officers continue to interview people who were involved in prostitution around that time and who may have information which could help us.”
