Is my pet pooch safe to be around daffodils?

-

There are many reasons for a cough. One possibility is that Billy has caught infectious tracheobronchitis, commonly known as ‘kennel cough’. It causes a harsh cough, which often sounds like there is something stuck in the throat. Most of the time kennel cough will cure itself, but it is best to visit the vet as they may prescribe medicine to stop it escalating. The vet will also be able to rule out anything more serious and give you advice on how to soothe the symptoms. There is a vaccine for kennel cough, which is given separately to routine vaccinations, and many kennels require dogs to receive these before allowing them to stay. The clicking could be a number of things so it’s important to go to your vets to get this checked. Your cat could have a dislocating kneecap (which isn’t always painful), or ligament damage (which can be) causing a clicking noise. A cat will get around quite well even if they have a sore leg as they tend to put on a brave face. It’s not normal for Sugar to be sneezing so a trip to see your vet will be required as this can be caused by a few different things. If just one nostril has visible discharge, there could be a fungal infection, or even a tumour in the nose. If there’s a discharge from both nostrils, it could be a viral or bacterial infection. In particular, Ferrets can catch a disease called “distemper” which causes a discharge from the eyes and nose, sneezing, coughing and a lack of appetite.
