Big blaze at building site
A HOUSING development in North Glasgow has been destroyed by a fire.
The building site on Wallacewell Quadrant, close to Barmulloch Community Centre, was engulfed by flames around 7.25pm last night.
Investigations into the cause of the blaze are continuing.

Firefighters were called to the scene at Wallacewell Quadrant, near Barmulloch Community Centre, at around 7.25pm last night.
More than 30 firefighters tackled the blaze, which took hold of the site.
Locals reported hearing ‘loud bangs’ before smoke began billowing from the development.
A number of streets surrounding the area were closed off as emergency services dealt with the incident.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed: “We were alerted at 7.25pm on Monday, March 19 to reports of a fire at a building site in Glasgow.
“Operations Control mobilised a number of resources to Wallacewell Quadrant, Robroyston, where firefighters tackled a large fire.
“There were no casualties.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
Police Scotland were also called to the scene and are currently carrying out enquiries into how the blaze started.
Firefighters also battled a fire at a property in Penilee this morning. Teams extinguished a blaze which happened in a outhouse on Deanfield Quadrant.
Early reports suggested tyres had gone up in flames in the property.
