MURDER BID HUNT AFTER LATE NIGHT CAR RAMMING
ONE car rammed into another in what police are treating as an attempted murder in Springburn.
One man is in a serious condition in hospital following the incident in Atlas Road.
Police received a report of a car blocking the road shortly before 10pm on Tuesday, where they found a damaged Vauxhall Vectra, which was unoccupied.
A force spokesman said the exact circumstances of what happened have yet to be established.
He said: “Inquiries carried out so far have revealed a blue BMW car deliberately drove at the Vectra, crashing into the back of it. The BMW then drove off towards Balgrayhill.
“The occupants of the Vectra left the car and emergency services were contacted.”
One man, aged 32, sustained serious injuries.
He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where medical staff confirmed his condition as stable.
A second man was uninjured.
Officers are treating the incident as attempted murder.
Atlas Road remained closed yesterday as forensic officers carried out a full search of the area.
Officers were carrying out door-to-door enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage from in and around the area. Detectives have also issued an appeal to the public.
Detective Inspector Gillian Faulds said: “I am appealing for anyone with any information about this incident to contact us.
“You may have witnessed the BMW crash into the Vauxhall car or you may have seen the blue BMW speed off after the incident.
“At this stage, we do not know how many people were in the BMW and any detail regarding the car could be vital in our enquiries.
“We are trying to ascertain exactly what has happened here and I’m asking local people to help us.
“If you have any information or knowledge of the car or the suspects then please do contact us.
“Any small detail could prove crucial in our investigation.”
