KATY Perry tucked into a Taco Bell and enjoyed a movie the night before her Glasgow show.

The California Girls singer told fans at the SSE Hydro on Sunday night that she appreciates that the city now has a Taco Bell.

The American fast food chain opened up on Sauchiehall Street last year and is famed for selling a variety of Tex-Mex foods including tacos, burritos and nachos.

Perry, 33, explained that she had Googled 25 places to eat in Glasgow and made calls to a few restaurants who could not take reservations.

She, however, beamed when she discovered the city had a Taco Bell. She said: “I really appreciate you guys putting a Taco Bell in here. You have no idea what that means to me.

“Maybe some of you have not tried this American treasure. Thank you so much for that, I had a great time in Taco Bell on Saturday night and I had a great time in your movie theatre.”

She also took in a movie at the city’s Quay cinema where staff posed up for a selfie with the superstar.

She watched horror movie Hereditary starring Toni Colette during a late night private screening.

Kat Kennedy, of Elektrik Marketing and marketing agents for The Quay, said: “Everyone at The Quay was thrilled when we learned that Katy Perry had chosen to enjoy her night out in Glasgow with us!

“It’s great to see that stars like Katy Perry who are performing just across the river at the SSE Hydro are getting to experience some of the great Glasgow entertainment facilities in and around the area as part of their stay.”

Perry was in the city as part of her Witness tour.
