Kaysen gets ready to hand over her Times Tot crown

- BY STACEY MULLEN

THE FIRST ever female winner of Times Tots is preparing to hand over her crown as we launch the competition for another year.

Cute Kaysen McKenzie was the first baby girl to be crowned our bonniest by readers last year.

Now the one- year- old is preparing to let another Glasgow tot take the limelight after scooping the top prize of £ 1,000.

Kaysen, who took the prize at four- months- old, has come on leaps and bounds thanks to proud parents Aimee Glackin, 25 and Dylan McKenzie, 24.

Dad Dylan, who comes from the city’s Riddrie, said: “Kaysen winning was definitely a shock. I can’t even remember how many started off in the competition but to go from the beginning to the end was amazing.

“The last year she has went from baby to a wee girl. She is walking and coming on great.

“She has been an exceptional baby, she doesn’t really cry and I love being her dad.”

Kaysen, who lives in Dennistoun with mum Aimee, spent the money on herself with the help of her parents of course.

Dylan, who is also dad to son Jack, eight, said: “It was exciting taking part in the competition from week to week, buying papers and checking to see if she was still in it.

“To see her in the top 10 was great, but the day we found out she had won it was amazing – it was good to see her on the front page.

“The whole family got behind it and they were buying the paper. But it was the readers who voted probably got us the win, rather than just family.”

Times Tots is now in its seventh year and we are searching for our 2018 winner.

Parents who want to enter their cute babies and toddlers into the competition for free can do so by visiting The Forge Shopping Centre from Monday until Saturday, August 19 between 10am to 5pm.

Our Times Tots team will be beside the cinema.

This year, the winner will receive £ 1,000, a £ 250 The Forge Shopping Centre voucher, a Times Tots winning trophy, certificate and a framed winning photograph.

Second place will receive a £ 250 The Forge Shopping Centre voucher, a framed photograph and certificate.

Third place will receive a £ 150 The Forge Shopping Centre voucher, a framed photograph and a winning certificate.
