-

THE Evening Times is bringing readers a daily breakdown of what’s on across the city during the European Championships, along with the routes to avoid for those commuting to and from Glasgow.

Roads surrounding Knightswood Park, including Great Western Road and Lincoln Avenue, are expected to be busier than usual, with parking restrictions in place as Europe’s elite cyclists battle out in the BMX qualifiers.

Scotstounhill train station is also due for more congestion than normal, particularly between 10am and it 2pm, as hundreds make their way to and from the event.

The last weekend of Festival 2018 promises to keep buses busier than usual around the city centre and Glasgow Green.

The return of road cycling to the city centre tomorrow will result in traffic disruption across Glasgow.

The events take place from 10.30am to 4.30pm with train services expected to be busier than normal.

Almost 100 roads will be closed throughout the city centre and West End. While diversions will be in place, advice is to avoid the area, possible.

Parking restrictions will also be in place around Glasgow Green and the West End while delays can be expected on the A74 at King’s DriveLondon Road throughout the day.

Trains to Balloch before 10am are likely to be busy due to the Open Water Swimming event.

And there will be reduced parking in Balloch as a result of the # Glasgow2018 Open Water Swimming event, with traffic on the A82 and A811 near Balloch likely to be heavy.

Advice is to use public transport or walk, if at all possible. if
