Family are becoming concerned for the safety of John Maclean who was last seen leaving Gartnavel Hospital near Great Western Road around 5.30pm on Friday.

He is also known by some under another name, John Wilson, and police are looking to find out where he has gone since leaving the hospital.

Mr Maclean or Wilson is described as 5ft 6in, of slim build with stubble, and salt and pepper hair.

At the time of leaving the hospital he was wearing blue chinos, a blue and white checked shirt and sand-coloured shoes.

Police said he could be in Glasgow but also has connections in Dunnon, in Argyll where he is known to visit.

Sergeant Douglas Davies, of Partick Police Station, is appealing for help.

He said: “John’s family and friends are extremely worried about him and we are appealing to members of the public to help trace him.

“John is known to spend time in the Glasgow area and also has family in Dunoon and we would urge anyone who thinks they may have seen him to get in touch.”

Anyone with information regarding John’s whereabouts is asked to contact Partick Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 3329 of Friday, August 24.
