New Light Blue Grezda can’t believe move

-

ALBANIAN international Eros Grezda said he was in dreamland last night after signing for Rangers.

The pacy winger became the Ibrox side’s 14th signing of the season after receiving the work permit required to complete his £2m move from Osijek, the Croatian club Rangers faced in the second qualifying round of the Europa League this season. The move sees him rejoin his former team-mate Borna Barisic in Govan.

The 23-year-old, who has signed a four-year contract with the Light Blues – subject to receiving visa and international clearance – didn’t play in those games but he has six caps for his international side Albania, who face Scotland on Uefa Nations League duty in ten days’ time. He isn’t considered ready to play in the Old Firm match against Celtic tomorrow.

“It’s an incredible experience for me,” Grezda told RangersTV. “Really I dreamed like a child to play at a big club with big fans and it could not be better for me now I’m here. I can’t wait to start playing in front of the fans.

“I think it’s the right time for me, at 23 years old, to move to such a good league and to a big club like Rangers.

“This is a really big step forward in my career. To be honest before I came here I didn’t know much [about Rangers] but after we started talking about coming here I looked at the history and really I’m so happy to be here.

“This is the first time I have been in the stadium and it’s empty so it is another feeling and it still is incredible. I can’t wait to start playing in official matches with fans. Really I can’t wait for that.”
