Music tour and transport museum up for prestigious tourism award
A GUIDED walking tour exploring Glasgow’s musical landscape has been nominated for a top tourism industry award.
Glasgow City Music Tours has been commended alongside The Riverside Museum and Celtic Connections for the Scottish Thistle Awards’ West regional finals.
A total of 10 businesses and individuals will represent the city and wider at the ceremony at Oran Mor on November 29.
The Riverside Museum has been nominated for the Best Visitor Attraction, with Celtic Connections shortlisted in the Best Cultural Event or Festival category and Glasgow City Tours for a Best Heritage Tourism Award.
Other shortlisted finalists from Glasgow include Oran Mor in the Best Bar/ Pub and House for an Art Lover for Best Eating Experience.
Paisley Halloween is in the Best Cultural Event and Festival category, while ScotRail is up for a Geotourist Innovation in Tourism Award.
The Scottish Thistle Awards are Scotland’s premier awards for the tourism industry. They celebrate success, innovation, excellence and best practice in Scotland’s tourism and hospitality industry.
2018 saw more than 640 entries submitted, including more than 1,000 nominations from members of the public keen to recognise their excellence.
