Gerrard says Gers will learn from loss
STEVEN GERRARD hopes his Rangers players will learn the lessons from their league defeat to Livingston.
The Light Blues went down 1-0 at the Tony Macaroni Arena as Gerrard was beaten for the second time as boss.
The Gers have a chance to get back to winning ways when they face Rapid Vienna tomorrow.
And Gerrard will demand improvement from his players at Ibrox.
He told Rangers-TV: “I think when you are flying and things are good and individuals, and as a team, get a lot of credit and praise, sometimes a lot of small things get hidden amongst that. But I think, after a defeat away from home, a sore one, you analyse it that little bit more and analyse individuals that little bit more.
“And some things smack you in the face that little bit more obvious. There is a saying in football that you learn more through defeat and I can definitely understand that.
“It will improve me because I made a few mistakes within that game on Sunday as well. The first thing I always do is analyse myself and my staff.
“What did we do? Did we do anything wrong? Could we have done anything better?
“And you hope that your players go and do that themselves individually because, as a player, the first thing you do, if you are a proper player, you reflect and you analyse and if you have made mistakes within it you try and not go back there and you try and improve.
“You hope that happens naturally but it is my job and my responsibility to show the players where we can improve as a group and maybe speak to individuals as well.
“That’s already in motion.”
