Warriors plaster it purple for charity with Glasgow Children’s Hospital

-

GLASGOW Warriors have announced a new charity partnership with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity for the next two years.

The Warriors will support the Charity with visits to the hospital, tickets for games and merchandise to help their fundraising, and will also provide social media support around their events and campaigns.

The club are also now accepting applications to become one of their official charities from next season, when they will support two charities as well as continuing to support Scottish Rugby’s charity partners.

Chris Fusaro, Rob Harley, Lee Jones and Ali Price visited the hospital to help launch the new partnership, while also promoting the charity’s fundraising campaign #PlasterItPurple, which is running for the month of October.

Later this month, the players will promote the #PlasterItPurple campaign by training in purple, while a group of players will attend the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity Ball on 11 November. The whole squad will visit the hospital in December.

Glasgow Warriors backrower, Rob Harley, said: “We’re looking forward to supporting Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity for the next couple of years.

“It is a local charity who we already have a relationship with. We visit them every Christmas, but this new partnership will allow us to extend our support to other parts of their fundraising activity, while we continue to visit the children on a regular basis.

“As a playing group we’ll support other projects and charities which are close to our hearts, but this partnership will help us build deeper relationships with a number of charities over a longer period of time.”
