Wily Woods is over his Hibs catastrophe

-

GOALKEEPER Gary Woods insists maturity has helped him get over Hamilton’s horror show at Hibernian.

Accies lost 6-0 in the Ladbrokes Premiership clash with Hibs at Easter Road before the international break in a performance boss Martin Canning described as “not acceptable”.

Ahead of the home game against Rangers tomorrow, the 28-year former Doncaster and Leyton Orient keeper admits developing a stronger mentality as his career has progressed has helped him focus on the next game.

He said: “When you were younger you might have dwelt on it a little bit and thought, ‘could I have done anything?’

“But now you sort of move on. It has happened. There is nothing we can do now.

“We have trained hard all week to be in the best shape and the best frame of mind for Sunday. We know what we need to do.

“We let the manager down, we let the fans down and let down the club in general with that performance and we want to turn it around.

“There is nothing more we can say other than it was simply not good enough. Football gives you another chance and what a good chance it is to turn it round against Rangers on Sunday.

“It is a massive game for us. Rangers are doing well at the minute, they have a new manager, a completely new set-up to what we faced last season.

“These are the games you want to play in as a player and hopefully we can go out there and do the business.

“We know we are up against a very good side, we have to stick to our game plan and hopefully execute it.”
