- BY STACEY MULLEN

A BROTHER has paid tribute after a body was discovered on wasteland in Drumchapel.

Darren ‘Sinky’ Sinclair, 27, was dead found yesterday morning.

Gary Sinclair described him as the “best brother” anyone could ask for.

A large police cordon was set up in the area after the discovery.

TRIBUTES have been paid after the unexplained death of a 27-year-old man whose body was found in wasteland.

Darren ‘Sinky’ Sinclair’s body was discovered yesterday morning at around 7.45am in a footpath at Kinfauns Drive in Drumchapel before hundreds of pupils made their way to nearby schools, Langfaulds and St Clare’s primary.

Several Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance vehicles rushed to the scene after they were alerted to the find.

A large police cordon was set up in the area with officers stationed around it while specialist forensic teams began their investigation into what happened to the man.

Police said they are treating the death as unexplained. The force also said that formal identification of the man is still to take place.

A post mortem examination will also take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

Mr Sinclair’s brother, Gary, took to Twitter last night to pay tribute.

He tweeted: “R.I.P. to the best brother a could ask for and a brother that loved all his troops Darren Sinky Sinclair.”

Shocked residents woke up to discover the large police presence outside their homes.

One resident, who did not want to be named, said: “It is scary, I have a 14-year-old boy and seeing something like this in the area worries me.”

Another resident added: “It is usually quiet here. We were shocked to see this cordon, which covers a big area. It is sad for the person’s family.”

Local MSP Bill Kidd said: “Police Scotland have informed me that there will likely be a continued police presence in the area for several days.

“The police ask that everyone remains calm.”
