Crypto currency Scotcoin in Social Bite donation pledge

-

A crypto currency firm has joined up with homeless charity enterprise Social Bite to help raise funds.

Scotcoin has pledged to donate £5 to the charity for every £20 of the currency bought until the end of January 2019.

Temple Melville, of Scotcoin, said: “This is a really exciting initiative. One of our stated objectives is to help eradicate homelessness, and Social Bite is already well established within this area.

“We are delighted to be partnering with them, and sincerely hope we have to give them lots of money over the next few months.”

Socail Bite is fundraising to help homeless people over the winter but also to provide permanent homes through the Housing First model.

The Evening Times is supporting this year’s Glasgow Sleep in the Park event at Kelvingrove Park next month to raise funds for Social Bite initiatives.

The charity was pleased with the Scotcoin donation scheme where 25 per cent of purchase value will be donated to Social Bite and the firm said there is no limit on how much Scotcoin can be bought through Bitcoin blockchain.

Andrew Baillie, of Social Bite, said: “We are thrilled to have the support of ScotCoin as we work to end of homelessness in Scotland.

“Their donation will help to fuel initiatives such as our Social Bite Village and Housing First programme.”
