Jacobs insists Lions got least they deserved
KEAGHAN Jacobs insists Sunday’s stalemate against champions Celtic is yet more proof that new boys Livingston can hold their own in the Premiership this season.
After a blistering start, the Lions had lost backto-back games against St Johnstone and Hamilton Accies leading to suggestions in some quarters that their earlyseason “bubble” had burst after last term’s surprise promotion run.
But Gary Holt’s men added a hard-fought point against Celtic to the victories they have earned against Rangers – who they face at Ibrox next following the international break – and Hibs at home so far, as well as their draw with high-flying Hearts, to suggest they are determined to keep upsetting the odds.
The Almondvale club face a run of fixtures before the winter break which will go a long way to deciding just how successful their return to the top-flight is going to be, with Motherwell, Kilmarnock, Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen all in the pipeline before the mid-season shut-down.
But Jacobs is confident that the team are continuing to head in the right direction.
He added: “It was exhausting [in the 0-0 draw against Celtic] but we knew that’s what it was going to be like, we knew we were going to have to put everything into the game.
“The boys did that magnificently and I think we got what we deserved out of the game. We were disappointed after two defeats but we know we’ve got it in the team to go and get results in this league.
“And we proven that again, against probably the best team in the league.”
