Terror for shop workers after knife thug in daylight raid
TWO women have been left shaken up after a knifepoint robbery in a corner shop in Glasgow.
A man threatened two shop assistants with a knife until they handed over more than £100 in cash and a number of scratchcards.
It happened just after midday on Tuesday at McColl’s on Househillwood Road in Pollok.
The man was described as white, 5ft 8in and wearing his hood up, with a scarf over his face.
He was wearing a black jacket with a white badge on the chest, light jeans and trainers.
The two shop assistants, who are 31 and 81, were “shaken up but uninjured”, police said.
Yesterday, one of the assistants had already returned to work behind the counter.
Police are appealing for witnesses that may have seen the man in the area prior to the robbery or running from the scene towards Silverburn Shopping Centre with the stolen cash.
Detective Constable Kimberley Douglas, of the Greater Glasgow Community Investigation Unit, said: “Luckily in this case no-one

“I’d like to speak to anyone who may have seen this man hanging around the area prior to the robbery taking place or anyone who has seen him running off afterwards.”
Both employees in McColl’s yesterday were prevented from speaking to the Evening Times by company policy.
A spokesperson for the retailer said: “The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees is of utmost importance.
“We are working closely with the relevant authorities in response to this incident.”
